I kicked off my stand-up career on Mother’s Day—because nothing says "Happy Mother’s Day" like your own children heckling the other comics.

My entertainment journey started as a kid in the Philippines, where I discovered I liked attention. In junior high, I got into musical theater (because regular teenage awkwardness wasn’t enough, I needed choreographed teenage awkwardness). Eventually, I made my way to Hollywood as part of a bubblegum pop group called i5—short for "International 5," not "Internet Explorer 5," though both were equally outdated by the 2000s. I toured the U.S., opening for N’Sync and Britney Spears, which was basically like living in a TRL fever dream.

After recording an album and living the pop-star life, I realized that continuing in entertainment required sacrificing my values. And unlike some, I wasn't about that #MeToo life—I just straight-up said, "Nope," and left before the casting couch could even be a conversation.

Now, I’m a mom of two, a veteran of a couple of marriages (and divorces), and a survivor of things they definitely don’t sing about in pop songs—like raising a special needs child, dealing with a husband who thought marriage was a three-person game (without telling me), and navigating a divorce so dramatic it could’ve been its own reality show.

Comedy became my therapy because, let’s face it, laughter is cheaper than actual therapy. Now, I’m here to make people laugh—not just about my past identities as a "has-been" pop star, an ex-wife of a pathological liar, or a mom who's been through the wringer—but about the ridiculousness of life itself. And trust me, life is very ridiculous.

For the last year, I have been auditioning for standup comedy at comedy clubs and restaurants. I recently signed with a modeling and acting agency in the OC. I am beginning to produce a documentary on the life comedians as they start out and the grind they go through to reach a level of success that can actually pay their bills.
